Here is some practical information about the use of Hjerterum:
KEY:
You will find two sets of two keys to Hjerterum in a small key box which hangs on the outer wall by the iron gates facing Guldsmedgade. You will use one of these sets. A set consists of a green chip for the gate and the basement door, and a regular key for Hjerterum’s main door and the padlock for the basement’s inner gate.
You will receive the code via email for opening the key box.
The chip is user friendly! You simply hold it up to and in front of the black ‘thing’ on the wall under the key box. When you see a green light, you turn the ‘thing’ clockwise and the gate opens very slowly. See the picture below of the black ‘thing’ for the chip…..
REMEMBER to put the set of keys back in the key box after your event!

OPENING OF GATES WHEN YOU LEAVE:
Press the switch on the left side under the mailboxes – then the door opens
DOOR PHONE:
Your participants can ring the door phone at the gate in Guldsmedgade on arrival. It is the bottom bell on the right. You let people in via the door phone by pressing the key icon.
NOTE! If the lower button with a bell on it lights up red, then the sound of the door phone is off! Press this button to turn the sound back on.
KITCHEN:
Clean up the kitchen after you so it looks like it did when you came. The dishwasher must be started if it is more than half full. There are soap tablets under the kitchen sink.
In the kitchen there is a refrigerator, freezer, oven, 2 hotplates and an electric kettle which you can of course use.
Bring your own tea, coffee and the like.
SOUND SYSTEM:
In the hall there is a system with a mini-jack and Bluetooth (bring your own adapter if you have a mobile without a mini-jack input.)

LOUD MUSIC / SOUND:
Keep windows and doors closed if you use loud music, drums and the like for your event – and air the room if necessary when there are pauses in the music. We must take into account the residents in the area.

CLEANING PROCEDURE
After your event at Hjerterum, it is important that you leave the place clean and tidy, so that the hall is ready for those who will use the room after you, thank you.
Remember to clean and make sure to book enough time for cleaning. We recommend setting aside 30 minutes after your event.
Tidying up and cleaning in the hall:
- Vacuum the entire hall (if you have only used a small area, vacuuming there is sufficient)
- Chairs and mats are put back behind the curtain
- Cushions and blankets are folded and placed on the shelf
- Other borrowed items are put back where they were
- Air out the room
Tidying up and cleaning in the kitchen and toilets:
- Wash dishes by hand or fill the machine (start the dishwasher if it is more than half full)
- If you have the last booking of the day: always start the dishwasher or wash dishes by hand if there are only a few items
- Tidy up the kitchen
- Check the sinks and toilets and wipe with cleaning wipes if necessary
- Clean the toilet bowl if necessary
- Empty the trash cans when they are half full and put new bags in
You will find a vacuum cleaner, cleaning wipes, cloths and cleaning products in the hallway by the toilets.
Waste can either be thrown into the container behind the wooden gate to the right of the end of the building or into the container on Guldsmedgade.
If the cleaning is not in order, a cleaning fee of DKK 250 will be charged.
BEING IN THE YARD:
As we share the yard with other surrounding residents, please keep your participants in the local area around Hjerterum’s front door. Please do not let your participants use the yard for longer breaks – but it is of course OK to take short smoking / taking air breaks of around 10 min. However, avoid loud noises in the yard. Then there is room for everyone
